Satsang

Once Narada wanted to know the meaning of satsang ,hence approached the God and asked for the meaning of Satsang".then God without giving answer directly told him to go to a tiny worm which was lying on one corner of the garden to find out from it.Nodding his head Narada went closer to the worm and asked the question and to his utter dismay the worm died immediately. Narada was aghast and rushed back to God to know the reason and get the answer for his question.God smilingly showed a pigeon which was flutering its wings as he was perching on a low branch of a tree, and said " Go ask that pigeon " .Then ,Narada went closer to the pigeon took the pigeon into his hand  softly caressed and asked it,but ,shockingly this pigeon also died.The distressed  Narada went back to God to find out the reason for this consequence along with the meaning for Satsang",.This time God showed him a calf in one garden and asked Narada to find out the meaning for his question.Little apprehensively and hesitantly ,did Narada approach the calf and as suspected the calf also collapsed the moment Narada spoke to him.Completely dejected Narada ran back to the God to get  reason for all this along with the meaning for the word Satsang".This time too the God has not given any answer to him but showed one young Prince in one of the small Kingdom and suggested Narada to seek answer from the Young Prince.The cynical Narada went closer to the young Prince and sat next to him and tried whispering his question to his ears,for which the Prince smiled but did not answer. Narada seeing the smile was perturbed .Then the Young Prince smiled at him and asked "Have you not recognized me? I am the worm who you met me first: with your satsang the life of worm got ended and I got a rebirth as pigeon and when I met you as pigeon ,your company made me get a better life as calf thus ending the life of pigeon and when you met me as a calf ,your Satsang made me get the most noble birth as a human being.Thus your Sat sang and power made me transform from the tiniest worm to the noblest human being who can think and act.Thus the Satsang can transform the lives of people.
Having heard this answer Narada got convinced and moved on.
Moral : when Good people meet the Power of meeting transforms  the lives.

I was five years old when China Pakistan war broke out.An incident that ensued during that period still haunt me even after 50 years !! The Treasure Once the king of a village was riding on his horse early in the morning on the streets of his kingdom to understand the smooth functioning of his kingdom.
